Jacob Bethel’s cricket career started on the seashores of Barbados. He was born on 8 February 2004. Bethel has been interested in cricket since childhood. He is a left-handed batsman and he soon showed his batting skills in the local grounds of Barbados.

The scholarship meant that the school would bear all the expenses of Bethell’s education because they saw that Jacob was very good at cricket and they wanted Jacob to play for their school and country. This step was important and a big opportunity. And it meant that he would have to leave his home, that too at such a young age.

In England, Jacob Bethell joined Warwickshire County Cricket Club, making his Twenty20 debut on 20 June 2021.

At the age of 20, Jacob Bethell made his international debut against Australia. It was a very cold night in Cardiff on Friday, 13 September. In his second match for England, Jacob Bethell hit the world’s best white ball bowler Adam Zampa for 20 runs in a single over. And Liam Livingstone also played a brilliant innings in that match in which he scored 87 runs in 47 balls. And achieved the target of 194 runs. And then Jacob Bethell also made his Test debut against New Zealand.

Jacob Bethell recently made his Test debut against New Zealand on 28 November 2024. And in the second innings of his debut, Bethell scored a half-century.
